Prudentia stands on the shoulders of free software and open data. We thank everyone who contributes to them. This page names the main components and the licences they are under.

Data and services

Weather: Open-Meteo.com, licence CC BY 4.0. For the forecast the app sends the approximate location (coordinates) to Open-Meteo.
Public holidays: the library date-holidays (ISC licence). The holiday data is under CC BY 3.0.
GIFs: GIF search is provided by KLIPY (“Powered by KLIPY”). KLIPY’s terms apply.
Places in the account area: place search with Nominatim, © OpenStreetMap contributors, licence ODbL.

Software

The app mainly uses Expo, React, React Native, Expo Router, Zustand, React Native Reanimated, React Native Gesture Handler, react-native-nitro-ios-alarm-kit (for the iOS alarm, with a small modification), react-native-cloud-storage (iCloud backup) and further libraries. The website uses fflate and a QR code generator. They are mostly under the MIT licence, some under ISC, BSD or Apache 2.0 licences. The packages ship their licence texts themselves; on request we will send you the complete list.

Fonts

The website uses EB Garamond, the app Newsreader. Both are under the SIL Open Font License 1.1.

Sounds, logos, images and animations

All sounds, logos, images and animations of the app and the website were created by the Prudentia team themselves or with the help of AI tools.
